We are excited by your interest in the Philanthropy as Civic Engagement course. Students who participate in the course have a unique opportunity to determine, in collaboration with their peers, how $100,000 (contributed to the course by UCLA donors) should be allocated to local non-profit organizations. Since Fall 2012, the 200 undergraduates who have participated in this course have awarded $900,000 in funding to 30 Los Angeles nonprofit organizations that foster arts and culture, human services, environmental sustainability/animal interests, and health and wellness. In preparation for selecting the approximately 20 students who will be invited to participate in the Winter 2024 course, we are interested to learn more about you and your experiences that have led to an interest in philanthropy and taking this unique course. Please submit an application and attach your resume. Before submitting an application, please note the following requirements. You must:
have accumulated 120 units with a GPA of 3.4 or higher (at end of Fall Quarter 2023) and
have declared a major
Members of the teaching team will review applications on a rolling basis. Students who are selected to participate in the course will receive a PTE number. Thank you for your interest!
